The 87th annual Lincoln City Women’s golf tournament held its second day of play at the Pioneers Golf Course bright and early on Saturday.
“Golf is a great opportunity to get out during the coronavirus because you can practice your social distancing, you’re outside, and getting some fresh air,” said Shelly Herrod, a board member.
Dozens of women geared up to tee off, including Jodi Nelson, last year’s champion.
Channel 8 asked Nelson if she thought she might be able to hit her goal of winning two years in a row, and she was a little unsure but certainly still hopeful!
“I don’t know,” said Nelson. “I don’t know how anybody else is playing but I’m playing decent golf, so that’s all I can control. It’s really fun, and of course, we are playing with a wonderful group of women, and it’s hard to beat. It’s just fun.”
The third and final day of the tournament is tomorrow at the Woodland Hills Golf Course.
