Two Lincoln-based companies are teaming up to help healthcare workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

NRC Health and Higher Order Innovation worked together to produce and distribute 10,000 face shields for healthcare workers in Nebraska and beyond.

The companies will deliver the face shields to hospitals and senior living facilities across the country over the next two weeks. About half of the masks will go to facilities in Lincoln and Omaha.

NRC is also making a $10,000 contribution to the Lincoln COVID-19 Response Fund hosted by the Lincoln Community Foundation.

“We immediately thought wow what a great way to partner with higher order innovation to help support what they’re trying to do to get PPE out to front line healthcare workers,” said NRC Health’s CFO Kevin Karas. “We have a number of things we do every year and this just created a very urgent call to action and really helped up focus on what we can do right now that’s really going to make a difference because of the urgency.”
