Lincoln crews battle fire in dangerously cold temps

One person was inured during the early morning response

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Crews began battling flames burning close to a home early Thursday morning near 6700 Holdrege Street.

It was first reported around 4 a.m. and quickly escalated.

The temperature at the time was a bitterly cold 3 degrees.

Officials tell us one person was injured, but right now the extent of their injuries is unknown.

There’s also no word on what started this fire, only that it began in a trash can.
