Lincoln doctor sentenced for obtaining Hydrocodone by fraud

(U.S. Attorney’s Office Press Release) — United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Jeffrey Fraser, 63, of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly a general medical practitioner in the Lincoln area, was sentenced on June 19, 2020, to four years’ probation by United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr., for obtaining Hydrocodone by fraud.

From on or about March, 2014, through January, 2018, Fraser obtained hydrocodone from patients and employees in a fraudulent manner. Fraser admitted to involving employees and patients in his efforts to obtain hydrocodone. He admitted to writing and paying for the prescriptions, after which they gave him the pills for his personal use.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
