Lincoln Farmers Market in full swing as summer season ramps up

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – As summer continues to ramp up, the Lincoln Farmers Market is in full swing.

Many local businesses set up shop in the Haymarket on Saturday morning looking for new customers.

The market fare typically includes baked goods, innovative arts and crafts and produce.

Many new visitors enjoyed trying the famous breakfast burritos, churros and all kinds of fresh lemonade.

Repeat customers also look forward to the weekend as they know the farmers market is always supporting the community.

Nebraskan Caleb Korte says the farmers market is a good way to enjoy your morning but also a great opportunity to give back.

“Every Saturday it makes me want to get out of bed,” he said. “I’ve lived in Lincoln my whole life and it’s just a great place where I can really immerse myself in the community of Lincoln, and support a ton of local businesses.”

Danny Petersen, another repeat marketgoer, says he enjoys the community aspect of the event.

“It’s a great way to see lots of people you know, being able to just mingle, enjoy the weather, go out and have fun.”

Both Petersen and Korte look forward to taking full advantage of the market this summer.

“We’ll be out here as much as possible, hopefully, every Saturday.”

There’s still plenty of time to visit as the Haymarket will be home to the festivities all the way until Oct. 14.
