Lincoln grandmothers celebrate milestone birthday with skydiving
This is a story we know you'll fall for
CRETE, Neb. (KLKN) – Susan Strong turned 75 on Friday, and for her milestone birthday, she celebrated with a bang with her best friend, 71-year-old DaraLee Beltz.
These two bold Lincoln grandmas decided to jump from a plane with Skydive Atlas at the Crete Municipal Airport — for the second time.
You could say it’s become a birthday tradition for these two friends whose relationship started five years ago when they met in a cancer support group.
Today, they have both beat the odds and are now cancer-free.
In fact, Susan got word this week that she’s still cancer-free, so Friday she was celebrating double.
“I’m just so thankful God has blessed me richly,” she said. “And I plan to live to be 100, and we’re going to go skydiving every year.”
From 10,000 feet up, these two impressive ladies show no sign of stopping anytime soon.
“I really feel like I’m 34,” Susan said. “I don’t know why. I just feel better than ever, even before I got cancer. I feel better than I did then.”
Their future is filled with family and a whole lot more skydiving.
DaraLee’s birthday is coming up in a couple months.
“And I said, ‘Well, maybe we better go again then.’ So who knows?” Susan added.
