Lincoln Lutheran likely secures a playoff spot with win over Milford

MILFORD, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Lutheran came into Friday’s season finale against Milford ranked 10th in Class C2, just on the edge of playoff contention.

While the Milford Eagles were already eliminated coming into the matchup, they could still have played spoiler for the Warriors.

Early on, it looked like the Eagles might do that, but Lincoln Lutheran ended up cruising to a 44-18 win, almost guaranteeing a playoff spot.

Milford marched down the field and scored on its opening drive to take the 6-0 lead.

Lincoln Lutheran would respond with a 4-yard touchdown run by Will Jurgens to take a 7-6 lead.

And the Warriors wouldn’t look back.

Lutheran could host an opening round playoff game if it lands a top-eight seed in the Class C2 state tournament.
