Lincoln man arrested after assaulting cashier

A Lincoln man is in jail after robbing a Kwik Shop and assaulting the cashier in the process.

36 year old Timothy Bowie went into the Kwik Shop near N. 1 Street and Cornhusker Highway shortly before 10:00 Thursday night.

He jumped behind the counter, trying to steal cigarettes.

When the cashier tried to stop him, he assaulted her and then fled the store.

He eventually came back and tried to get back in to the store but was stopped.

He took off in his car, and Lincoln Police caught up with him a short time later.

He was arrested for the robbery and a DUI, with a BAC three times over the legal limit.
