Lincoln man arrested after shooting partner

The 47-year-old female who was shot in the back, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police arrested 50-year-old Aaron West after he shot his partner in the back with a handgun on Friday.

Police were called on a weapons violation to the 4600 block of Cleveland Avenue and contacted a 47-year-old woman who told police she had been shot in the back by West.

An ambulance transported the woman to a local hospital where she was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to LPD.

After West exited the residence, police took him into custody without incident.

Police investigated the scene and learned that West threatened to shoot himself before the shooting. West shot at his partner while she was checking on him.

Police arrested West for 1st Degree Assault and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
