Lincoln man arrested after threatening man with gun

Dadreon Mason, 29, resisted arrest when officers arrived on the scene.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police arrested a 29-year-old man after he threatened to kill another man during an argument.

A Lincoln Police officer heard gunshots in the area of 16th and E St. during an unrelated investigation.

The officer drove towards the sound of the gunfire and located several people holding down 29-year-old Dadreon Mason, who had a gun in his hand.

The officer helped and restrained Mason, gaining control of the handgun. Mason continued to resist and after more officers arrived, were able to get him into custody.

A 26-year-old man told the officers Mason approached him and pulled out a handgun after an argument began. Mason threatened to kill the man and began firing the gun into the air.

The victim tried to grab the gun from Mason which led to the two men fighting on the ground.

LPD says witnesses verified the victim’s account of the events.

The officers found Mason to be a convicted felon, which prohibits him from possessing firearms.

LPD arrested Mason for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, resisting arrest with a deadly weapon and terroristic threats.
