LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested after he fell asleep in a stolen vehicle, Lincoln Police say.

A 30-year-old male reported his Dodge Avenger stolen on Tuesday after he left it to warm up near North First Street and Bridger Road.

Lincoln Police say they were sent to check on a suspicious Dodge Avenger near 17th and Dakota Streets on Thursday.  When they arrived, they found Baylee Claussen, 22, asleep in the driver’s seat.

Claussen was lethargic and unresponsive to questions when he woke up, according to Lincoln Police.  Officers searched the vehicle and found a baggie containing methamphetamine.

Lincoln Police say that the vehicle had been spray-painted and that Claussen had dried spray paint on his fingers.

After he was evaluated at a local hospital, Lincoln Police arrested Claussen on suspicion of theft by receiving (over $5,000), possession of a controlled substance and criminal mischief ($1,500 – $5,000).
