Lincoln man killed in crash was ‘an awesome friend’
Friends are mourning the death of a Lincoln man killed in a crash Thursday night.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Friends are mourning the death of a Lincoln man killed in a crash Thursday night.
Brady Sweetser, 23, died after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle near 33rd and Hwy. 2 around 9:30 p.m.
According to a Lincoln Police Department accident report, the other driver was headed east and making a left turn off of Hwy. 2 onto Pioneers Blvd., crossing the westbound lanes. Sweetser struck the car’s front passenger side door, ejecting him from his bike, according to the report.
A witness told officers they were at a stop light when they saw Sweetser accelerate at a high rate of speed as the light turned green, the report says. The witness also reported they saw the other driver fail to yield as Sweetser approached.
The crash remains under investigation and citations are pending, according to the report.
The driver of the other car suffered minor injuries but is expected to be okay, police said.
In social media posts, friends of Sweetser described him as “an awesome friend” and said he will “be missed by so many.”
