LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – According to court documents, Lee Petereit, 36, was sentenced to 14 to 17 years for possession of child pornography with intent to distribute, and intrusion after secretly recording an underage female with a hidden baby cam.

Petereit was sentenced Monday morning via a Zoom call.

According to a probable cause affidavit for Petereit’s arrest, the mother of a teenage girl notified the Lincoln Police on November 3, 2020 that she discovered Petereit secretly recording her daughter with a hidden baby cam by accessing his Twitter account, which included the nude photos, according to the affidavit.

She also found Petereit had been sharing the photos and videos with another Twitter user and sharing how he hid the camera in her daughter’s bedroom.

He also messaged users about how he would assault the teenager while she would sleep. The teenager denies any knowledge of the hidden camera in her room or remembers Petereit entering her room at night and touching her while she sleeps.

The affidavit says Lincoln Police contacted Petereit on November 3, 2020, and informed him of the investigation.

Petereit gave consent for an examination of his cellular phone, and the search showed screenshots from hidden baby cam footage.

On December 2, 2020, Petereit was arrested and transported to Lancaster County Corrections Center where he was held until his court date.
