Lincoln man sentenced to 47 years for trafficking children
A Lincoln found guilty of sex trafficking children was sentenced Tuesday to 47 years in federal prison.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln found guilty of sex trafficking children was sentenced Tuesday to 47 years in federal prison.
Devin Ashford, 33, will also have 10 years of supervised release upon his release.
Numerous people testified at trial that Ashford beat, starved and pushed cocaine on them to get them to provide sexual services.
Authorities say Ashford targeted runaways or children in the foster care system.
U.S. District Judge John Gerrard called the accounts of the victims to be “compelling” and “horrendous.”
“For those thinking that pimping is a lifestyle, there will be a cost for doing business,” he said at sentencing.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Lincoln Police Department.
