Lincoln man shamed on billboard for losing fantasy football league…twice
A Lincoln chiropractor has found his face on a billboard - but it's not to promote his business.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) -A Lincoln chiropractor is paying his dues after losing his fantasy football league…twice.
Dr. Nick Heiss admits that he isn’t the best when it comes to making picks for his fantasy team, but he didn’t expect to be his group’s loser two years running.
Now, if you’re driving in the area of 56th and Highway 2, you’ll see his face high in the sky.
“I walked out of work one afternoon, I believe it was a couple of weeks ago to 37 text messages on my phone so I knew something was happening around town,” Heiss says.
That something? A billboard with Dr. Heiss’s face on it, announcing his two-year losing streak in his fantasy football league, and reading, “Great at back adjustments. Awful at lineup adjustments.”
“You have a draft, you pick your players, you play ’em each week and you let the chips fall where they may and yeah. Obviously I’m not very good at it.”
Heiss says last year he was out of town when his fantasy league mates agreed on the billboard punishment for the upcoming season.
“Well I would have never agreed to that if I was there in person, but I ended up agreed to it because there was no way I was going to lose two years in a row, so, little did I know, I lost two years in a row,” Heiss tells Channel 8 Eyewitness News reporter Marlo Lundak.
After losing, he knew what was coming, but didn’t really know.
“I had no idea when they would put the billboard up, where it was going to be, I just told them to keep it nice and clean and they ended up clearing the billboard template through my wife first, which she didn’t tell me either.”
So now, the billboard stands tall for all of east Lincoln to see.
“You know with the current climate of everything and the stress people are going through today, if it gives people a laugh at my expense, I’m alright with that.”
Heiss and his fantasy league are now looking for a friendly punishment for this year’s loser, and they’re asking for the public’s help! You can vote by heading to Heiss’ Chiropractic Facebook page here.
