Lincoln man’s vehicle stolen in one of the first warm-up thefts of the season
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man’s vehicle was stolen on Tuesday when he left it running in his driveway to warm up, Lincoln Police say.
While waiting for his GMC Envoy to warm up around 7:10 a.m., the man went back inside his home near 12th and Pawnee Streets. When he went back outside, his vehicle was gone.
The vehicle was seen by Lincoln Police officers on Wednesday around 11:34 a.m. Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused, and a pursuit began.
The vehicle was last seen near Highway 77 and Van Dorn Street.
About 15 minutes later, deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office found Gabriel Kuhfahl, 27, driving the GMC near 19th Street and Cushman Drive.
After a brief struggle, Kuhfahl was arrested on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, resisting arrest and theft by receiving stolen property. He also had multiple outstanding warrants.
