LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A former Lincoln photographer will spend over 20 years behind bars on child pornography charges.

On Wednesday, Gregory Dightman, 53, was sentenced to 20 ½ years in prison on four counts of production of child pornography, according to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office.

On Nov. 19, 2019, a mother reported that her daughter had taken inappropriate photographs with a professional photographer, who turned out to be Dightman.

These photos included nude images, the attorney’s office said.

Lincoln Police acquired a search warrant for Dightman’s home and studio.  He admitted to police that he knew the girl’s age and had taken nude photos of her.

An investigation found that Dightman had taken pornographic images of at least four girls, who were all between the ages of 16 and 17 at the time.

Investigators recovered around 590 child pornography images, according to the attorney’s office.

After his prison sentence, Dightman will serve 10 years of supervised release.

United States District Judge John Gerrard also ordered him to pay $12,000, which will go toward funds established for victims of these types of cases.

There is no parole in the federal system.
