Lincoln Police Department shares results from impaired driving enforcement campaign

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department on Monday released the results from its impaired driving enforcement campaign.
The campaign, which took place from April 17 through April 20, resulted in 100 citations and warnings issued during 62 traffic stops, including the arrest of 21 impaired drivers.
According to LPD, additional officers were deployed throughout the city to address impaired driving and proactively keep roadways safe.
The full breakdown from the campaign is as follows:
- Speeding – 24 citations, 3 warnings
- Signal violations – 5 citations, 1 warning
- Seatbelt violations – 5 citations
- Other traffic – 18 citations, 16 warnings
Additional violations and offenses include:
- Reckless driving – 1
- Insurance violations – 5
- Registration issues – 6
- Driving under suspension – 3
- Criminal charges – 5
- DUI – 2
