LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Early this morning, another Lincoln convenience store was robbed at gunpoint.

The robbery happened at 12:30 at Prairie Lake Mobile, 8600 Amber Hill Ct. The suspect asked for Newport cigarettes before pulling out a gun and demanding money.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

However, a few hours later, Lincoln Police received a call from the manager of Prairie Lake Mobile about a man crossing Hwy 2 who looks similar to the robbery suspect.

Lincoln Police arrived on scene and found the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Early Hays III, huddled near the Buffalo Wild Wings building in the area.

When taken into custody, officers found a large amount of cash in Hayes’s pant leg and a full pack of Newport cigarettes on the ground.

A firearm was not found on his person and officers say he had changed his clothes since the robbery took place.

Hayes was arrested for robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
