Lincoln Police seize meth, ‘AK-47-style’ pistol in traffic stop
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Wednesday after officers found meth and an AK-47-style pistol during a traffic stop, Lincoln Police say.
Around 7:50 p.m., the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force was following up on an investigation when they saw Aliaksandr Lupsiakou, 32, driving near O and Southwest 40th Streets.
Officers then pulled him over in a nearby parking lot where a police K9 alerted them to the presence of narcotics.
During a search, officers found 1.8 grams of meth and drug-related items. They also seized a ‘Drakov’ AK-47-style pistol, loaded magazines and ammunition.
Lupsiakou was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm during a Felony II Drug Violation and carrying a concealed weapon.
