LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lake Street Senior Center is set to close as Aging Partners moves the facility to the Washington Street Senior Center.

The City of Lincoln says the senior center at St. James Church on 11th Street will close next Wednesday.

A new facility, located in the Grace Lutheran Church at 2225 Washington St., is set to open on Dec. 5.

The director of Aging Partners, Randall S. Jones, says staff will work with visitors to figure out how the city’s new senior center and others can be improved.

“The new location will be ADA accessible, have ample parking, a kitchen facility and space for recreation and other activities,” Jones said in a press release. “Attendees will have the opportunity to have a nutritious meal, participate in fun activities and enjoy the company of others.”

Regular visitors of the Lake Street Senior Center are being offered transportation to the Downtown Senior Center on Dec. 1 and 2.
