Lincoln Southwest stays undefeated with win over Lincoln East

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Southwest defeated Lincoln East 31-17 in an in-city rivalry match Friday night at Seacrest field.

East took a 3-0 lead over Southwest on a 42-yard field goal in the first quarter, but all the action started in the second quarter.

Lincoln Southwest quarterback Collin Fritton threw a 39-yard pass to Jackson Carpenter for the first down.

Soon after, the duo of Fritton and Carpenter scored a 16-yard touchdown to put the Hawks up 7-3.

Lincoln East responded when quarterback Jeter Worthley found Malachi Coleman for a 9-yard touchdown pass to get back in the lead 10-7.

Ashton Gazga drilled a 35-yard field goal as time expired for the Silver Hawks to tie it up at 10 going into halftime.

Southwest outscored East 21-7 in the second half to come out victorious and stay undefeated.
