Lincoln Stars’ season ends after Fargo scores five goals in third period

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Stars fell to the Fargo Force 8-4 at the Ice Box on Monday night in game four of the USHL Western Conference Finals.

Under a minute into regulation, Fargo’s Owen Mehlenbacher got one through on his first shot of the night to give Fargo the lead.

But the Stars responded quickly. Just 30 seconds later, Doug Grimes evened it up for Lincoln at 1-1.

The Stars and Force traded points until Tanner Ludke tied the game at 3-3 on a power play and Antonio Fernandez gave the Stars their first lead of the game.

But the Force went on a third period rally, scoring five goals to eliminate Lincoln 3-1 from the series.
