Lincoln Strip Club Visited by ATF
A Lincoln strip club is in trouble with the law one more time. But this time, it's with the Federal Government- more specifically, the ATF.
For several years police and city officials have been wanting to know exactly what goes on behind the doors of Mataya's Babydolls. This time authorities are keeping very tight lipped on what happened Friday. Here's what we do know. Just after ten Friday morning a locksmith was called to Mataya's Babydolls. ATF officials and Lincoln police would not say exactly why they were there.
This is a common practice when federal agents become involved in a case. ATF agents eventually drove off in their cars with a big plastic bin. We do not know what was inside of it. Back in March court records said Mataya's license was suspended for health violations after a dog and dead mice were found inside the business.
On Friday Channel 8 Eyewitness News did see what looked like an employee taking a dog outside next to a cage. Several months ago a couple of employees were arrested for having sex with animals inside Mataya's. Also, the owner, John Ways has been in trouble with the law before. According to Lancaster County Attorney Gary Lacey he was recently charged with felon in possession of a firearm. He was also arrested for pandering a 16-year-old girl. Ways could not be reached for comment.
