Lincoln teen sets vehicle on fire with firework

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln teen caused $3,200 in damages to a vehicle after setting it on fire with a firework.

Lincoln Police were dispatched to Lincoln Southwest Highschool on Friday around 10 p.m. on a report of a fire.

A 17-year-old tried to throw a firework out of his vehicle, but it did not make it outside of the car.

The firework ignited, lighting the car on fire. Lincoln Police say there were no injuries.

LPD estimates the firework caused about $3,200 in damages to the vehicle.

LPD referred the teen to the county attorney’s office for setting off a firework in a prohibited area.
