Lincoln Weather Update: Sunday, October 25th

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect thru Monday morning for much of central and eastern Nebraska.

Snow is continuing to fall in the northern tier of the state this morning. The snow will continue drifting southward throughout the day, beginning in Lincoln during the afternoon. The bulk of the snow in the southeast will begin during the afternoon and continue overnight, lingering into Monday morning. Travel will be impacted at times especially the Sunday evening and Monday morning commute, with areas of blowing snow likely.

When all is said and done 2-4″ inches of snow is possible in the Lincoln area. Higher amounts to our north and west, generally north of the Platte river.

Cold and blustery for the day with highs in the low to middle 30s, with north winds at 15-25 mph.

Behind the snow system, a very cold air mass settles in providing near record cold for the first half of the week.
