Lincoln Weather Update: Thursday, September 24

Summer-like temperatures spill into Thursday with highs climbing into the middle 80s under sunny skies. Wind should remain light and variable. Clear and quiet conditions for the overnight hours. Temps continue to stay mild as they fall near 60 degrees. Average low this time of year is 50.

Record heat is a possibility for Friday. Highs near 90 or even the low 90s for Friday afternoon. Record high for the 25th of September in Lincoln is 93 degrees. We will be getting close to tying that record come tomorrow. The warm weather persists into Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Near-normal temps arrive for Sunday and the start of the next with with highs in the middle 70s.

Big changes for the middle of next week. A strong front will move through which will plummet temperatures into the upper 50s to low 60s for the middle of the week. We’ll be waking up to lows in the 30 and 40s. Get the warmer jackets and sweaters ready!
