Lincoln Weather Update: Thursday, September 3

After a hot day across the state with many areas reaching the 90s, today will be much more cooler and comfortable with highs around 80 degrees this afternoon. All due to a cold front which moved through this morning. Breezy north winds will stick around through the morning and afternoon with occasional gusts up to 30 mph. Overall a sunny and pleasant Thursday. Great window weather tonight as it gets chilly with lows falling into the low 50s. Sunny and warmer Friday as highs push back into the upper 80s.

The heat returns for Labor Day weekend. Highs soaring into the 90s both Saturday and Sunday. It may be a little humid as well. If you have outdoor plans, don’t forget to stock up on drinks, don’t forget the shades and the sunscreen! Labor Day Monday will be a touch cooler as highs fall into the 80s with a small chance of rain.

Big changes happen in the weather pattern for the rest of next week. A push of colder air filters in with highs in the mid to upper 60s thru mid-week! Our best chance of rain looks to be Monday night into Tuesday with scattered rain chances lingering into Wednesday.
