Lincoln Weather Update: Wednesday, July 8

Hot and steamy once again today. Highs will soar into the middle 90s with an abundance of sunshine. However, it will feel more like 100 degrees making for a very uncomfortable afternoon.

A cold front will slide across the state today, aiding in the development of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Storms are expected to move into eastern Nebraska and then into the Lincoln area around midnight and continue into early Thursday morning. Strong to severe storms will be possible. Damaging wind is the primary threat, large hail and heavy rain are also possible.

Thursday into the weekend will be cooler with highs in the upper 80s near 90 degrees. It’ll still be humid, despite the “cooler” temps. Scattered storm chances on Saturday before a few dry days at the beginning of next week.
