A Lincoln woman is facing a felony child abuse charge after she allegedly planned to use two teenage girls to catch sex traffickers.

According to court documents, 39-year-old Amy Schellhorn intended to take the girls to Las Vegas and have them work undercover to bait sex traffickers.

Schellhorn planned to go to Omaha to meet up with “body guards” who would drive the group to Las Vegas, investigators said in an affidavit for her arrest. One of the girls told investigators she was told she would receive $500,000 and her own house if she participated, according to the document.

One of the girls told investigators Schellhorn talked about changing both girls’ identities once they got to Nevada, according to court documents.

Authorities located Schellhorn with two different girls, who she allegedly planned to use instead of the original teens, at a shopping center in Omaha.

A judge on Monday set Schellhorn’s bond at $500,00. She is scheduled to appear in court next month.
