As COVID-19 restrictions lessen and the numbers climb in cases, more people can be seen out and about around the Capital City.
“I went out and shopped for some flowers the other day but I was staying apart from everybody else,” said Malanie Menzie. “So, yea I feel pretty safe as long as keep my hands clean and don’t touch my face.”
Menzie, like many Lincolnites, is venturing outside her home more, supporting local businesses, going to the mall, or getting fresh air.
Officials report as more people are tested in the Lincoln area, more cases will be reported.
Though many would like to restart the economy, COVID–19 continues to spread locally.
Menzie says she still is not sure the city should be fully active just yet.
“Things like getting your hair cut and movie theaters where your gonna be to close to somebody, I think it’s a little too soon for that,” adds Menzie. “I think we better let the numbers go back down.”
And more residents tell Channel 8 they still maintain their social distancing but are excited to see things get closer if not back to normal.
