LLCHD: Latest coronavirus cases, mask mandate extended
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Here are your latest coronavirus numbers and news as of Wednesday, Sept. 16, according to the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department.
Current Direct Health Measures, which include the Lancaster County mask mandate, have been extended until Oct. 31.
The county’s total confirmed cases are over 5,300, with 106 of these cases confirmed on Wednesday. Nearly 50 percent of all positive cases are within the 20 to 39 age group.
As for total tests given, the county reports 67,929 completed tests. Of these, 1,456 tests were taken this week.
Lancaster County has seen 2,079 recoveries and 21 coronavirus-related deaths.
The overall positivity rate for the county is up from 7.7 to 7.8 percent. While Nebraska’s remains at 9.5 percent.
