LLCHD reports one additional COVID-19 death in Lincoln

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department reported one death from COVID-19 on Monday.

LINCOLN, Neb(KLKN)- The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department reported one death from COVID-19 on Monday. They say it was a man in his 60’s who was hospitalized and vaccinated. The total number of deaths is now at 366.

The health department also confirmed 372 cases on Monday, 702 on Saturday and 179 on Sunday. The total number of cases is at 53,704.

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 patients: 130 with 90 from Lancaster County (10 on ventilators) and 40 from other communities (7 on ventilators). Health officials say this includes patients who no longer test positive for COVID-19 but continue to be hospitalized.

The risk dial is still in the red, which means risk of COVID-19 spread and impact in the community is severe.

The health department is also reporting that 64.7% of Lancaster County residents are fully vaccinated.

Vaccinations administered:

  • Initiated vaccinations (first doses): 222,284
  • Completed vaccinations (second doses and J&J vaccine): 206,504

Health officials say the omicron variant continues to spread in Lancaster County. They also say the delta variant is spreading at high levels and impacts the number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths.
