LLCHD reports three more COVID-19 deaths

LLCHD reported the deaths of a man in his 90s who was hospitalized and vaccinated, a woman in her 20s and a man in his 60s who were both hospitalized and unvaccinated.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department reported three more COVID-19 deaths on Friday.

LLCHD reported the deaths of a man in his 90s who was hospitalized and vaccinated, a woman in her 20s and a man in his 60s who were both hospitalized and unvaccinated.

LLCHD also reported a total of 903 lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Local hospitals currently house 135 COVID-19 patients, 42 coming from other communities and a total of 16 on ventilators.

Last Friday, Health Director Pat Lopez announced a new DHM that lasts through Feb. 11. The new DHM includes a mask mandate for all individuals two and older regardless of vaccination status.

On Wednesday, Lopez announced the COVID-19 Risk Dial will remain in the red category for the third consecutive week. The red category indicates severe risk of spread and impact in the community.
