LLCHD: Weekly average for COVID-19 cases up to 80


LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —  Friday, the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD)  updated the community on our coronavirus numbers for today and the week in total.

Today announced that 119 confirmed cases of COVID-19 had been reported, bringing the community total to 6,137.

The LLCHD representatives expressed concern as the current weekly average is at 80 cases. So far this week, LLCHD saw 461 positive cases.

The number of recoveries is up at a total of 2,353.

The overall positivity rate for Lancaster County is up from 8.2 to 8.3 percent. The state rate remains at 9.7 percent.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.

Testing is now open to all Lancaster County residents.
