LPD: 1 in critical condition after early morning shooting

The 37-year-old man is considered in critical condition, according to Lincoln Police.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln police are investigating after an early morning shooting has left one man in critical condition.

According to authorities, just before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Blue Flame Rd on a report of gunshots.

When officers arrived they discovered blood and a bullet casing outside of a residence, but were unable to locate anyone with injuries. While officers were on the scene, the victim, a 37-year-old man, arrived at a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.  Due to the victim’s need for treatment at the hospital officers were unable to obtain any additional information about what led up to the shooting.

The man, who has not been identified at this time, is in critical condition, according to Lincoln Police.

Investigators are continuing to process the scene and are attempting to locate witnesses or anyone who may have electronic or video evidence which may assist in the investigation.
