LPD: 2 arrested after fleeing police, drugs found in car

The 2 have been evading traffic stops, and when police caught up with them, they found drugs in the car

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- At 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, the county’s narcotics task force reported looking for 33-year-old Jason Smith at a home.

According to police, Smith is wanted for fleeing from several traffic stops, the most recent one was on February 20.

Investigators say that Smith exited the home, they tried to contact him, and he ran back into the house. Investigators reported that they were eventually able to take Smith into custody and authorities reported that his car was parked at the house, but he did not live there.

Lincoln police say they found 21-year-old Olivia Gordon in the passenger seat of the car with .1 g of meth. LPD say they also found small baggies, a scale, 15.9 g of weed, syringes, and a loaded 380 handgun in the car.

LPD reported that Smith was arrested for POS of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, two counts of fleeing arrest, and driving during suspension and Gordon was arrested for POS of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant for an assault.
