LPD: 2 arrested for reportedly pistol-whipping, trying to rob man near airport

Two people were arrested for allegedly threatening a man with a gun and trying to rob him, police said.

Lincoln Police said the 36-year-old victim reported last Friday night that he was in a hotel room by the Lincoln Airport with his girlfriend when Joshua Torres, 32, and Jessica Overton, 25, knocked on the door.

The man said his girlfriend opened the door and Torres pressed a gun against his head while Overton demanded money the two said he owed them. The victim said Torres then pistol-whipped him, knocking him unconscious. Police said he had injuries consistent with his report.

Torres took the victim to an ATM where the victim proved he did not have any money in his account before they returned to the hotel room before Torres and Overton eventually left, police said.

On Sunday, Torres and Overton were located and arrested for attempted robbery.
