LPD arrests man from Illinois for driving stolen vehicle

Staff at the N. 27th Walmart notified police of 33-year-old Jesse Robles made an attempt to break into the loss prevention office.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police arrested a man in a stolen vehicle from Illinois on Monday at the 27th Street Walmart.

Around 3 p.m., once officers arrived at the Walmart, staff notified them of Jesse Robles, 33, who tried to break into their loss prevention office.

Officers found Robles in a Nissan Xterra in the parking lot; they also saw a 28-year-old woman enter the vehicle.

According to LPD, Robles was believed to be driving a stolen vehicle and had a “real or realistic-looking handgun” inside.

Robles started to leave the parking lot when officers stopped the vehicle and took him into custody.

LPD confirmed the vehicle had been stolen out of Illinois and found a BB gun inside.

The female told police Robles had been threatening her with the BB gun and held her against her will.

LPD arrested Robles on suspicion of theft by receiving ($1500-$5000) and terroristic threats.
