LPD arrests man who shot at vehicle in 2020

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police arrested 31-year-old Claytavius Wiley on Tuesday for firing a gun at a woman’s vehicle in 2020.

Police were called near 27th and South St. on a disturbance call involving weapons on September 18, 2020.

A 20-year-old female told police that she was driving southbound near 27th and E St. when a vehicle pulled up alongside her.

The woman noticed a dark object pointed outside of the vehicle’s window and said she then heard gunshots.

The woman’s car had several bullet holes with an approximate $5,000 worth of damage done to the vehicle.

After processing the scene and interviewing witnesses, investigators determined that Wiley had fired the gun at the woman’s vehicle.

Police found Wiley to be a convicted felon, prohibiting him from owning a firearm. Police contacted Wiley at the Lancaster County Jail where he was serving time on unrelated charges.

Lincoln Police arrested Wiley for Discharge a Firearm at Vehicle, Use a Firearm to Commit a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.
