Authorities arrested a man after he allegedly threw furniture around a hospital and struggled with officers.

Lincoln police officers responded Monday to Bryan West Hospital on reports of a patient – identified by police as 40-year-old Leona Golden – was refusing to leave.

When officers arrived, hospital staff told them Golden was refusing to leave the hospital and had begun throwing chairs around and threatening to destroy hospital property.

Golden refused numerous commands to leave and sat in a chair, police said. When officers tried to escort him out, Golden grabbed the officers’ hands to prevent them from taking him into custody, police said.

After a struggle, Golden was arrested and booked for trespassing, resisting arrest, and failure to comply.
