LPD: Call LES, not 911, to report a power outage

The Lincoln Police Department is asking for people to not call 911 to report power outages.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department is asking for people to not call 911 to report power outages.

LPD says the Emergency Communication Center has been receiving a high volume of calls pertaining to the outages.

“We are aware of the power outages and are communicating with Lincoln Electric System.  We do not need to be notified of the outages at this time,” LPD said.

For questions or concerns regarding outages, please contact the Lincoln Electric System.

You can report an outage to LES by calling 1-888-365-2412.

Remember that if a traffic light is out, it should be treated as a four-way stop.
