Authorities arrested two people on numerous charges after finding two young children in an apparent marijuana grow operation.

Lincoln police officers responded Sunday to a home in the 2400 block of S. 10th St., after receiving a tip about a marijuana grow operation inside a home where a 6-year-old and 8-eight year lived.

Officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the home, and heard a toilet flushing and things being thrown around the back of the home, police said.

Officers found 27-year-old Nicole Ross had broken out a window and was trying to destroy evidence of the grow operation, police said. Officers also found four large marijuana plants, grow tents, LED lamps, ventilation systems, marijuana seeds, $1,000 cash and containers with label for sale, and a 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen inside the home, police said.

Ross and 24-year-old Enrique Cruz were arrested on numerous drug and weapons charges. Both were cited for child neglect as well.
