LPD: Firework causes thousands in damage to east Lincoln home

A firework or other explosive caused thousands in damage to an east Lincoln home, Lincoln police said.

A 43-year-old woman reported waking up around midnight Monday after hearing someone shoot off the explosive in the entry way of her home near 81st and Holdrege.

The firework broke siding, a ceiling light and left numerous dents, holes and burn marks on the home, police said. The damage is estimated at $2,000.

Police said the firework was used in an “abusive” way.

As of Tuesday morning, police did not have any suspects.
