Authorities are investigating a weekend stabbing at a Lincoln apartment building.

Lincoln police officers responded to the scene in the 800 block of S. 11th St. around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers found a 45-year-old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen.

The man told officers another man whom he’d had a disturbance with the day before had knocked on his door, then began kicking and banging on the door. The victim grabbed his cane, opened the door and chased the man while telling him to leave, police said.

At one point, the man turned and charged at the victim, pushing him up against a wall and stabbing him, police said. The man then ran away as the victim made his way back to his apartment, police said.

The victim’s injuries are not considered life threatening, police said.
