LPD locate car stolen from a Columbus salon

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Sunday night, around 10 o’clock, Lincoln police performed a traffic stop on a white 2009 Buick Lucerne at 10th and High streets for an out headlight and no license plates.

Officers contacted the driver, 28-year-old Favian Meda, and found he did not have a driver’s license at the time. After checking the car, officers found it was reported stolen from Columbus Tuesday, Aug. 25.

The Columbus Police Department later determined Meda had stolen the car by entering a salon and taking keys off of a hook before driving off.

A search of the car led Lincoln officers to find a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue and other drug paraphernalia.

Meda was arrested for felony theft by receiving, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
