LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police have arrested a man after finding his 19-month-old child with a broken leg and ‘extensive bruising’ all over her body.

Police say on January 11, they were called to the area of 14th and E streets on a report of a child abuse call. When they arrived, they found the 19-month-old baby girl with a broken femur and bruising that covered her body.

The child was transported to a local hospital and was rushed into surgery for her injury, which police say is non-life threatening.

The mother of the child told police that the baby had just returned from visiting her father, and when she saw the injuries she immediately called police.

The woman also told police the father’s child admitted to being responsible for the child’s injuries.

On January 12 around 1 p.m., police say 28-year-old Ramon Quijas turned himself in to investigators. He was arrested and lodged in the Lancaster County Jail for felony child abuse.
