LPD: Man picks up litter, has gun pulled on him

After picking up someone else's litter, a man reported to LPD that he was threatened with a gun

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- On April 8th, just before 4 p.m., Lincoln police were called to the McDonald’s on 1028 Saunders Avenue on the report of a disturbance.

The victim, a 37-year-old man, told Lincoln police that he was stopped at the stoplight at NW 12th and W Adams when he saw the driver of a blue Pontiac G6 throwing garbage out of their car.

The victim told police that they picked up the litter and put it under the windshield of the Pontiac. As the victim was walking back to his car, he told LPD that the driver of the Pontiac started walking towards him waving a handgun and yelling that he was going to kill everyone.

The victim told police this was alarming as his two children, a 10-year-old and an infant, were in his car as well. The victim then drove to McDonald’s and called the police.

Officers reported finding and arresting 48-year-old Justin Abercrombie for Terroristic Threats and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony. LPD reported finding a .45 caliber handgun on the front passenger sweat of Abercrombie’s car.
