LPD: Man stabbed over pitbull puppies
The 34-year-old victim has non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect has been arrested.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Late Wednesday night, a man was stabbed several times over four puppies.
Lincoln Police were called to the area of 16th and D Streets on reports of a stabbing around 10:30 on reports of a stabbing.
They arrived to find a 34-year-old male with multiple stab wounds, bleeding heavily. He was transported to a local hospital to be treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Following witness interviews, officers learned the victim had an argument with a 17-year-old male over an alleged theft of four pitbull puppies. The argument soon turned physical and the victim was stabbed several times.
Witnesses also reported seeing the victim with a baseball bat. The assailant and victim are believed to have known each other.
The 17-year-old was arrested for 1st Degree Assault and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony. He was then sent to the Lancaster County Detention Center.

Lincoln Police responded to the area of 16th and D Streets around 10:30 PM for a reported stabbing.
When police arrived on the scene, two males, one armed with a baseball bat, the other with a knife were engaged in a disagreement.
The individual wielding the knife is said to have stabbed the victim in the neck and chest. The 34-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and is has non-life-threatening injuries. The other individual involved in the dispute has been arrested.
Police say that the dispute started because a door was left open that allowed a dog to get out of an apartment building.
