Authorities arrested a man they say threatened people with a knife.

Lincoln police officers were called Sunday afternoon to the Luxury Inn at 2940 NW 12th St. on reports the man – identified by police as 35-year-old Matthew Stinson – had come into the lobby holding a knife and threatened to kill the clerk. Stinson also reportedly threatened other people as he walked out of the lobby and left the area.

Officers found Stinson about six hours later near 1st and P St. When they contacted him, Stinson became agitated and threw a can of White Claw Hard Seltzer at the officers before taking off running, police said.

Officers caught up to Stinson – who had a folding pocket knife on him – and took him into custody, police said.

Stinson was lodged for use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, resisting arrest and terroristic threats.
